What is the purpose of Meals on Wheels?
Meals on Wheels provides nutritious home-delivered meals at nominal cost to persons who are unable to prepare adequate food for themselves due to illness, disability or age.
How are meals delivered?
Volunteers deliver meals Monday through Friday 11:30—12:30 (lunch only). These caring, dedicated people make the program run—in good weather and bad—giving their time, gasoline, cars, and their hearts!
Where are the meals prepared?
Skilled dietitians plan and prepare the nutritious meals on a non-profit basis with the consent of the individual client’s physician. The meals are supplied by Independence Village of Zionsville.
Who are the volunteers?
Our volunteers are the lifeblood of Meals on Wheels. They are interested, caring, dedicated, and compassionate individuals of the community who willingly devote their time and effort to those in need. Please use the Volunteer form to contact us if you are interested in volunteering.
